Specifically, I recommend using a preset designed for Obsidian Weathers & Seasons, which is for my money the best all-around weather and exterior lighting mod available for SE right now.
Since you said you're open to ENB, and frankly I'm not really qualified to recommend visual mods for a setup that does not include ENB, I'm going to start by recommending that you do use ENB. For me, ENB is the first decision you need to make, since it largely dictates your other graphical mods.
